Is luxury simply about extravagant decor and extravagant decor? Enowa felt that a redefinition was necessary in today’s stressful society. The answer they arrived at was botanical retreat. They determined that the future of luxury lies in a place and time where one can unwind, unwind, and rediscover one’s true self. Chef Tashi Jamtso resonated with this philosophy and came to Japan. Another person who resonated with us was Teruhisa Ishiwari of Kyoto Ishiwari Farm, known as a master farmer. He discovered new possibilities for ingredients in the land of Yufuin and has been working closely with Tashi to nurture the farm and its people for many years since the opening.
